Overview
AXT107 is a synthetic collagen IV-derived peptide that inhibits neovascularization by targeting VEGFR2 and activating Tie2 pathways. It forms an intravitreal self-forming gel depot allowing potentially yearly dosing versus frequent injections required by current anti-VEGF therapies. Animal models show superiority over Eylea with longer durability. The Phase1/2a CONGO trial has dosed patients with diabetic macular edema demonstrating safety and bioactivity.
