Company intelligence / Profile preview
ASHTA Chemicals was a U.S.-based industrial chemical manufacturer focused on potassium hydroxide, chlorine, and related potassium-based chemicals produced at its Ashtabula, Ohio site. Its products served a range of end markets including liquid fertilizers, runway de-icers, food ingredients, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural applications. The company was known as a leading producer of potassium hydroxide (caustic potash) and operated a chlor-alkali unit using membrane cell technology. In December 2022, INEOS Enterprises completed the acquisition of ASHTA Chemicals from Bigshire Mexico and stated that the business would be renamed INEOS KOH. Because of that transaction, ASHTA Chemicals as a standalone company/brand is best understood as a former operating name rather than an independent current company.
