ASPRIVA

Aspreva (often referred to as Aspriva) was a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of medicines for rare and orphan diseases. The company's primary strategy involved identifying new therapeutic indications for existing pharmaceutical products, most notably through a global partnership with Roche for CellCept (mycophenolate mofetil). Aspreva successfully advanced CellCept into late-stage clinical trials for lupus nephritis, addressing a significant unmet medical need. The company was publicly traded on the NASDAQ and Toronto Stock Exchange before being acquired by the Swiss healthcare group Galenica in 2007 for approximately $915 million. Following the acquisition, its operations were integrated into Vifor Pharma.
