Company intelligence / Profile preview
Aspro Nicholas was a prominent pharmaceutical company best known for the global commercialization of Aspro, a popular brand of aspirin. Originally founded in Australia by the Nicholas brothers during World War I to address aspirin shortages, the company expanded significantly into the United Kingdom and Europe, establishing a major presence in Slough, England. Beyond its flagship analgesic, the company developed and marketed a variety of over-the-counter healthcare products, including the antacid brand Rennie. Following a series of mergers and acquisitions, the company became part of Nicholas Kiwi before being acquired by the Sara Lee Corporation in 1984. Its pharmaceutical assets were later divested to Roche and subsequently Bayer, where many of its legacy brands continue to be marketed today.
