Association of Academic Medical Centers

The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) is a non-profit association dedicated to transforming health through medical education, health care, medical research, and community collaborations. Founded in 1876 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., the AAMC represents all accredited U.S. and Canadian medical schools, hundreds of teaching hospitals and health systems, and dozens of academic societies. The organization provides essential services for the medical community, including the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) and the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Through its advocacy and leadership, the AAMC works to improve the health of the public by enhancing the quality of medical education and clinical practice.
