Association of Canadian Academic Healthcare Organizations

The Association of Canadian Academic Healthcare Organizations (ACAHO) was a national non-profit organization that represented Canada's teaching hospitals and regional health authorities. It served as a primary advocate for the essential role of academic healthcare institutions in research, medical education, and high-quality patient care. In 2014, ACAHO merged with the Canadian Healthcare Association (CHA) to form HealthCareCAN, which now acts as the unified national voice for healthcare organizations across Canada. During its operation, ACAHO was instrumental in shaping federal health policy and securing support for the indirect costs of health research. The organization focused on fostering collaboration among its member institutions to drive innovation and improve the sustainability of the Canadian healthcare system.
