Association of Clinicians for the Underserved

The Association of Clinicians for the Underserved (ACU) is a transdisciplinary non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health of America's underserved populations and supporting the clinicians who serve them. Founded in 1996 by alumni of the National Health Service Corps, ACU provides professional development, training, and technical assistance to the healthcare workforce in community health centers and other safety-net facilities. The organization is well-known for its STAR² Center, which offers resources for clinician recruitment and retention, as well as its advocacy for health equity and expanded access to care. ACU serves as a critical network for healthcare providers, administrators, and advocates committed to eliminating health disparities through policy and practice. Their work focuses on strengthening the primary care workforce to ensure that all communities have access to high-quality, comprehensive healthcare services.
