Astra Arcus was a specialized research and development subsidiary of the Swedish pharmaceutical giant Astra AB, primarily focused on the central nervous system (CNS) and pain management. Established in 1991 and based in Södertälje, Sweden, the company was one of Astra's core research units alongside Astra Draco and Astra Hässle. Its portfolio included significant research into neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, as well as psychiatric disorders and chronic pain. Following the 1999 merger between Astra AB and Zeneca Group, Astra Arcus was fully integrated into the newly formed AstraZeneca.
