Athlon Pharmaceuticals

Athlon Pharmaceuticals was a specialty pharmaceutical company based in Fort Worth, Texas, that focused on the development and commercialization of products for respiratory and pain management. The company was best known for its portfolio of prescription products, including the Tussi-Organidin line of cough and cold medications. In 1996, Athlon was acquired by Forest Laboratories for approximately $55 million to strengthen Forest's presence in the specialty respiratory market. Following the acquisition, its operations and product lines were integrated into Forest Laboratories, which was later acquired by Actavis (now AbbVie).
