Athyrium Opportunities IV Acquisition Corp. was a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) sponsored by Athyrium Capital Management, a healthcare-focused investment firm. The company was formed to identify and effect a merger, capital stock exchange, or similar business combination with one or more businesses in the healthcare sector, specifically targeting biopharmaceuticals, medical technology, and healthcare services. It completed its initial public offering on the NASDAQ in February 2021, raising approximately $225 million. However, due to the inability to finalize a business combination within the required 24-month timeframe, the company announced its intention to liquidate and redeem its public shares in February 2023. The entity has since ceased operations and returned capital to its investors.
