Company intelligence / Profile preview
Atlanta Biologicals was a U.S.-based life science supplies company focused on manufacturing and supplying cell culture sera, media, and reagents for research and tissue culture applications. Founded in 1992 in Flowery Branch, Georgia, it served academic, industrial, and government research customers with products including fetal bovine serum and related cell culture consumables. In January 2018, Bio-Techne acquired all of the stock of Atlanta Biologicals and its affiliated company Scientific Ventures to strengthen Bio-Techne's cell culture and tissue regeneration offering. The brand and legal entity have continued to appear in corporate and state business records, but the business is best understood as an acquired operating business within Bio-Techne rather than an independent drug-development biotech company. Atlanta Biologicals did not appear to operate a therapeutic pipeline; its value was in research-use products, custom manufacturing, and supply capabilities for the life sciences market.
