Atlantic BioVenture Centre

The Atlantic BioVenture Centre (ABVC) is a specialized research and development hub located in Truro, Nova Scotia, focused on the commercialization of bio-resources from the Atlantic region. Originally established at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College and now integrated with Dalhousie University, the centre specializes in the extraction, characterization, and formulation of bioactive compounds from agricultural and marine sources. ABVC provides technical expertise and pilot-scale processing facilities to help industry partners develop nutraceuticals, functional foods, and natural health products. Its research primarily centers on high-value molecules such as polyphenols and antioxidants for the prevention and management of chronic diseases.
