Atlantic NeuroSurgical Specialists (ANS) was a premier neurosurgical practice based in Morristown, New Jersey, specializing in the treatment of complex brain and spine disorders. Founded in 1958, the group grew to become one of the largest and most technologically advanced neurosurgery practices in the Northeast, offering services such as Gamma Knife radiosurgery, endovascular neurosurgery, and robotic-assisted spine surgery. In 2018, the practice underwent a private equity-backed recapitalization by Lorient Capital and became a cornerstone of the Altair Health integrated care platform. Despite its clinical reputation, the organization faced significant financial and governance challenges, leading to a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in June 2024. The company subsequently underwent a court-approved liquidation process, with its assets sold and operations wound down by early 2025.
