Atlantis Health Plan

Atlantis Health Plan was a New York-based Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) founded in 1995 by a group of physicians led by Dr. Sury Anand. The company was established with the mission of providing affordable, high-quality health insurance to small businesses and individuals in the New York City area through a provider-owned model. By leveraging the expertise of local practicing physicians, Atlantis aimed to streamline healthcare delivery and foster stronger patient-provider relationships. However, the company faced significant financial difficulties and regulatory challenges over the years, leading to several restructuring attempts. In April 2019, Atlantis Health Plan was placed into insolvent liquidation by the New York State Department of Financial Services, and its affairs are currently being managed by the New York Liquidation Bureau.
