Atochem

Atochem, historically known as Elf Atochem, was a major French chemical company and a subsidiary of the Elf Aquitaine group. The company played a significant role in the life sciences sector by providing specialty chemicals, pharmaceutical intermediates, and medical-grade polymers used in drug delivery and medical devices. Following a series of mergers and reorganizations within the Total group, Atochem's assets were eventually integrated into Atofina and later spun off to form Arkema. Today, the Atochem name is primarily associated with its historical legacy in fine chemicals or smaller regional entities like Atochem Organics, which continues to manufacture pharmaceutical intermediates.
