Company intelligence / Profile preview
Atto Bioscience was a U.S.-based life science tools company focused on high-content cell analysis, live-cell imaging, optical instrumentation, software, reagents, and related assay services for pharmaceutical, toxicology, diagnostics, and research applications. The company integrated biology, imaging instrumentation, engineering, and manufacturing to support cellular research and drug discovery workflows rather than developing therapeutics. It was founded in 1985 in Rockville, Maryland, and was previously known as Atto Instruments. In July 2004, Becton, Dickinson and Company acquired Atto Bioscience for approximately $25 million in cash, and the standalone company ceased operating independently thereafter.
