Company intelligence / Profile preview
Auragenix was a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company based in Boca Raton, Florida, specializing in the development of photodynamic therapy (PDT) for dermatological and oncological indications. The company's lead candidate, AGX-101, was a topical formulation of 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) intended for the treatment of actinic keratosis and potentially basal cell carcinoma. Auragenix also developed proprietary LED light systems to activate its topical drugs, positioning itself as a competitor to established PDT players. However, the company's operations were effectively halted following a 2018 legal judgment that awarded $46 million to DUSA Pharmaceuticals for trade secret misappropriation. As a result, Auragenix is no longer active in the clinical development of its pipeline assets.
