Company intelligence / Profile preview
Aurora Biotechnologies originated from a spinout of Aurora Biosciences’ instrument business after Vertex Pharmaceuticals’ acquisition. The company specialized in automated biobank and chemical storage equipment used by pharmaceutical companies to accelerate drug discovery workflows. It did not develop its own therapeutics but enabled high-throughput screening through advanced instrumentation before being acquired by Nexus Biosystems in 2009.
