Australian Bragg Center for Proton Therapy and Research

The Australian Bragg Centre for Proton Therapy and Research is the first clinically dedicated proton therapy facility in Australia and the Southern Hemisphere. Located in Adelaide's BioMed City, the center is housed within the SAHMRI 2 building and represents a significant advancement in oncology treatment for the region. The facility utilizes Varian’s ProBeam technology to deliver high-precision proton beams that target tumors while sparing adjacent healthy organs and tissues. This treatment modality is particularly critical for pediatric patients and those with tumors located near sensitive structures like the brain, spine, or heart. In addition to clinical services, the center functions as a major research hub, conducting clinical trials and collaborating with international partners to advance particle therapy.
