AUV Veterinary Cooperative

AUV was a Netherlands-based veterinary pharmaceutical wholesale cooperative and later a broader animal health distribution business serving veterinarians in the Netherlands and Belgium. Historically, the cooperative was formally known as Coöperatieve Nederlandse Veterinair-Farmaceutische Groothandel A.U. and functioned as a procurement collective for veterinary pharmaceuticals. By 2012, its operating distribution business, AUV Veterinary Services B.V., was described as the leading distributor to animal health practitioners in the Netherlands and Belgium, supplying pharmaceuticals, pet foods, equipment, and disposables and supporting more than 2,000 veterinarians. The business also included AUV Advies, a veterinary practice consulting unit, and AUV Academie, an education offering for veterinarians and staff. AUV was acquired by Henry Schein in 2012, and its legacy Dutch animal health distribution operations are now associated with the Covetrus business in the Netherlands.
