Company intelligence / Profile preview
Avalun is a French in vitro diagnostics and medical device company founded in 2013 that developed the LabPad, a handheld point-of-care testing platform designed to deliver rapid biological test results from a finger-prick blood sample. The company combined lensless microscopy, microfluidics, consumable micro-cartridges, and Bluetooth connectivity to support near-patient testing in hospitals, outpatient settings, medical offices, nursing homes, and home care. Reported menu applications have included coagulation monitoring, C-reactive protein testing, D-dimer measurement, and SARS-CoV-2 antigen and antibody assays. Avalun was acquired by Biosynex in 2021 and its technology has been integrated into the Biosynex group portfolio.
