AvantiCell Science was a Scottish biotechnology company specializing in the development of advanced human cell-based analysis tools, including ethically sourced primary human cells and next-generation organoids. Their proprietary technologies enabled more physiologically relevant alternatives to animal testing for drug discovery, materials testing, and biomedical research. The company developed both first-generation market-ready products for two-dimensional analysis as well as second-generation three-dimensional immune cell/organoid models using bioprinting. These innovations aimed to improve the predictive value of preclinical safety/efficacy tests—especially for liver toxicity—and accelerate safer drug development. The company was dissolved on July 26, 2023.
