Aventa Genomics has launched the Aventa FusionPlus test—a next-generation sequencing assay that uses advanced "3D genomics" technology to detect gene fusions and structural rearrangements across a broad panel of cancer-related genes. The test demonstrates improved diagnostic yield over conventional methods like FISH or RNA-seq by identifying actionable variants missed by those techniques. In clinical studies on previously characterized driver-negative tumors, the test identified potentially actionable variants in about half the cases—doubling diagnostic yield and expanding treatment options for patients with solid tumors lacking known drivers.
