Aventis Bio-Services

Aventis Bio-Services was a prominent plasma collection organization and a subsidiary of Aventis Behring, the plasma-derived therapeutics arm of the pharmaceutical giant Aventis. Headquartered in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, the company managed a vast network of nearly 100 donor centers in the United States and Germany, collecting millions of liters of plasma annually. This plasma served as the essential raw material for manufacturing critical therapies such as albumin, intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG), and clotting factors used to treat hemophilia and other life-threatening conditions. In 2004, CSL Limited acquired Aventis Behring for approximately $925 million, leading to the merger of Aventis Bio-Services with ZLB Plasma Services to form what is now CSL Plasma. The company was known for its integrated network of laboratories and logistics centers that ensured the safety and quality of the biological supply chain.
