Avidimer Therapeutics

Avidimer Therapeutics was a biotechnology company focused on developing a new class of targeted cancer therapeutics based on dendrimer technology. Spun out from the University of Michigan, the company utilized its proprietary Avidimer platform to create synthetic, branched macromolecules that could deliver multiple therapeutic and diagnostic agents to specific cells. Its lead candidate, ATI-001, was a dendrimer-methotrexate conjugate designed to target folate receptors overexpressed in various solid tumors. Despite early clinical progress and significant venture backing, the company is no longer active and ceased operations in the late 2000s.
