Company intelligence / Profile preview
AviGenics developed a proprietary avian transgenesis platform to produce recombinant therapeutic proteins in the eggs of genetically engineered chickens. Their lead clinical program, AVI 014 (a G-CSF analog), reached Phase 2 trials in breast cancer patients at risk of chemotherapy-induced neutropenia but was ultimately discontinued. The company also pursued preclinical programs focused on generating disease-resistant poultry using RNAi technology and producing other biotherapeutic proteins.[1][5]
