Axelia Oncology

Axelia Oncology is an Australian biotechnology company focused on developing innate immunomodulators for the treatment of solid tumors, particularly those that are resistant to checkpoint inhibitors. The company's lead candidate, AXA-042, is a systemically delivered, synthetic agonist of the Toll-like receptor 2/6 (TLR2/6) heterodimer. By activating the innate immune system, AXA-042 aims to re-polarize the tumor microenvironment and enhance anti-tumor responses. Axelia was spun out of Ena Respiratory and is currently evaluating AXA-042 in a Phase 1 clinical trial, both as a monotherapy and in combination with Regeneron's PD-1 inhibitor, Libtayo (cemiplimab).
