Axiom Orthopaedics

Axiom Orthopaedics was a U.S. orthopedic medical device company focused on joint replacement implants, particularly in shoulder arthroplasty. The company developed implant technologies including a shoulder resurfacing system and patented non-spherical articulating surface designs intended to improve range of motion in shoulder and hip replacement. Available evidence indicates the business operated as Axiom Orthopaedics, Inc. in New Jersey and achieved FDA 510(k) clearance for at least one shoulder implant system. The company was acquired by Nexa Orthopedics in 2006, and Nexa was subsequently acquired by Tornier in 2007.
