Company intelligence / Profile preview
Axon Systems was a medical technology company specializing in neurological intraoperative monitoring (NIOM) and intensive care monitoring systems. Founded in 1987 and based in Hauppauge, New York, the company developed advanced electroencephalograph (EEG) and evoked potential monitors, such as the Sentinel-4 and Eclipse systems, used to protect critical neural pathways during complex surgical procedures. These technologies provided real-time feedback to surgeons, helping to prevent post-operative neurological deficits. In June 2010, Axon Systems was acquired by Medtronic for approximately $62 million to enhance its portfolio of surgeon-directed spinal and cranial neuromonitoring technologies.
