AxoSim Technologies

AxoSim is a New Orleans-based contract research organization and biotech company founded in 2014 by Tulane University researchers. The company develops proprietary nerve-on-a-chip and organoid platforms (NerveSim, BrainSim, and microBrain) that create 3D human tissue models to accelerate neurological drug discovery and provide alternatives to animal testing. The company serves biopharmaceutical companies developing treatments for neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer's, ALS, Parkinson's disease, and multiple sclerosis. AxoSim operates at the pre-clinical stage and has received funding from the NIH, NSF, and CASIS. As of 2024, the company has approximately 27 employees and appointed Alif Saleh as Chief Executive Officer, with co-founder Lowry Curley serving as Chief Scientific Officer.
