Company intelligence / Profile preview
Azellon Cell Therapeutics was a UK regenerative medicine company and University of Bristol spin-out focused on stem cell-based tissue repair for knee meniscal injuries. Its lead technology, Cell Bandage, combined mesenchymal stem cells with a biological or membrane scaffold intended to promote healing of avascular, white-zone meniscal tears that are typically difficult to repair surgically. The company advanced its meniscus repair program into an MHRA-approved Phase I/IIa clinical trial and later reported encouraging first-in-human results from a prototype version in a small patient study. Azellon appears to have remained a single-program platform-centered company focused on orthopaedic regenerative medicine. The legal entity AZELLON LTD was dissolved in February 2024.
