Azura Ophthalmics has reported positive results from Phase 2b clinical trials of AZR-MD-001 0.5% in Meibomian Gland Dysfunction, meeting co-primary endpoints of improvements in Meibomian Glands Yielding Liquid Secretion (MGYLS) and Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI). The company has also reported positive results from a Phase 2 trial of AZR-MD-001 in patients with Contact Lens Discomfort, showing significant improvements in multiple symptoms and allowing patients to wear contact lenses comfortably for an additional three hours daily. The first patient was enrolled in the Phase 3 ASTRO study for AZR-MD-001 in MGD patients in June 2024.
