Bacilligen

Bacilligen Inc. was a biotechnology company based in Rockville, Maryland, that specialized in the development of next-generation vaccines and therapeutics using bacteria-based technology platforms. Founded in 2006, the company focused on enhancing the safety and efficacy of bacterial vectors, most notably through its recombinant Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (rBCG) platform for tuberculosis and bladder cancer. Additionally, Bacilligen developed a novel replication-proficient recombinant dsRNA capsid platform designed for the efficient delivery of RNA-based vaccines. The company's research was supported by federal NIH grants and state-level investment incentives from the Maryland Biotechnology Investment Incentive Tax Credit program.
