Bactana

Bactana is a U.S.-based animal health biotechnology company focused on microbiome-derived solutions for companion animals and livestock. The company developed technology for anaerobic bacteria isolation and fermentation, with an emphasis on identifying beneficial postbiotic molecules from commensal microbes to support intestinal and metabolic health. Its programs have included pet metabolic-health products and livestock products intended to reduce diarrhea, improve feed conversion, and lower antibiotic use. In 2025, Bactana agreed to be acquired by Kemin Industries to accelerate commercialization through Kemin's global animal-health and ingredient infrastructure. The company appears to have remained an operating business within the context of that acquisition rather than an independent public company.
