Bahiafarma is a public pharmaceutical laboratory linked to the Health Secretariat of the State of Bahia (SESAB) in Brazil. The foundation focuses on the research, development, and manufacturing of essential medicines and diagnostic kits to support the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS). Its portfolio includes rapid diagnostic tests for arboviruses like Zika and Dengue, as well as chronic disease treatments such as insulin and sevelamer. Bahiafarma operates through strategic Technology Transfer Agreements (PDPs) with international partners to internalize production technology within Brazil, aiming to reduce healthcare costs and increase national self-sufficiency.
