Company intelligence / Profile preview
Banca IMI was the investment banking subsidiary of Intesa Sanpaolo, Italy's leading banking group. Headquartered in Milan, the firm provided a wide range of financial services, including investment banking, capital markets, and structured finance, to a global client base. While Banca IMI was a significant player in financing and advising companies within the life sciences and healthcare sectors, it was a financial institution rather than a biotechnology or pharmaceutical developer. The bank was known for its role in underwriting major IPOs and providing research coverage for the European healthcare market. In July 2020, Banca IMI was officially merged into its parent company, Intesa Sanpaolo, to streamline the group's corporate and investment banking operations under the IMI Corporate & Investment Banking Division.
