BankInvest Biomedical Venture was a prominent Danish venture capital firm specializing in the life sciences and biotechnology sectors. Operating as a dedicated arm of the BankInvest Group, the firm managed several funds that invested in early-stage and growth-phase healthcare companies across Europe and North America. Its investment focus spanned a wide array of therapeutic areas, including oncology, neurology, and metabolic diseases, as well as medical technology and diagnostics. In 2007, the firm's life science management team spun off to co-found Sunstone Capital, which subsequently took over the management of the BankInvest venture portfolios. BankInvest Biomedical Venture was instrumental in fostering the Nordic biotech ecosystem during its decade of active operation. The entity is currently inactive as BankInvest has exited the venture capital market to focus on its core asset management activities.
