Company intelligence / Profile preview
Banyan Biomarkers developed and commercialized the first FDA-cleared blood test to aid in the evaluation of mild traumatic brain injury. The Brain Trauma Indicator measures levels of UCH-L1 and GFAP proteins released into blood after head trauma, providing a rapid, objective tool to help rule out intracranial lesions visible on CT scan. In a pivotal study with nearly two thousand patients, it predicted presence or absence of CT-detectable lesions with high accuracy (>97% sensitivity; >99% specificity). The company also offers preclinical/clinical sample analysis services using its proprietary biomarker panels for neurological and organ toxicity research.
