Barakat Foundation

Barakat Foundation is a prominent Iranian charitable foundation and a major player in the country's pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. As a subsidiary of the Execution of Imam Khomeini's Order (EIKO), it oversees the Barkat Pharmaceutical Group, which controls a significant portion of Iran's medicinal supply chain. The foundation gained global recognition for developing COVIran Barekat, the first Iranian-made COVID-19 vaccine, through its subsidiary Shifa Pharmed. It also manages the Barkat Pharmaceutical Industrial Town, a large-scale hub designed to foster pharmaceutical research and production. The organization's primary mission is to achieve national self-sufficiency in essential medicines, including oncology drugs and biotechnological products. Through its various subsidiaries, the foundation is involved in the entire value chain from research and development to manufacturing and distribution.
