Barkey is a Germany-based medical and laboratory device company focused on dry warming and thawing technologies for blood banks, hospitals, research laboratories, and cell and gene therapy workflows. Its portfolio includes certified medical devices for thawing and warming plasma, blood, stem cells, and other cell materials, with products used in clinical care as well as R&D, clinical trial, and GMP manufacturing settings. Barkey has operated for more than 40 years and built a global presence spanning more than 60 countries. In July 2022, Barkey Holding GmbH and its subsidiaries, including Barkey Corporation, were acquired by Azenta and became part of Azenta's life sciences products business. The company is best known for its plasmatherm and related dry temperature-control systems that support safe, reproducible handling of sensitive biologic materials.
