Beijing Bio-Tech Development

Beijing Bio-Tech Development Center (BBDC) is a state-affiliated organization established in 1988 to spearhead the growth of the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries in Beijing. Operating under the guidance of the Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission, it serves as a strategic coordinator, incubator, and investment vehicle for the regional life sciences ecosystem. BBDC is primarily responsible for managing the Zhongguancun Life Science Park and implementing the G20 Project, a municipal initiative designed to scale high-potential pharmaceutical and medical technology companies. The organization provides essential infrastructure, R&D funding, and international collaboration opportunities to accelerate the commercialization of innovative medical products. It acts as a bridge between government policy, academic research, and industrial application, fostering innovation in areas such as genomics, drug discovery, and high-end medical devices. While not a direct therapeutic developer, BBDC plays a pivotal role in the industrialization of biotechnology in Northern China through its extensive portfolio of supported enterprises.
