Beijing Defengrui Biotechnology

Beijing Defengrui Biotechnology is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company based in Beijing, China, and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Staidson (Beijing) Biopharmaceuticals. Founded in 2013, the company specializes in the development of innovative biologics, with a primary focus on complement-targeted therapies for inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. Its lead candidate, BDB-001, is a recombinant humanized anti-C5a monoclonal antibody licensed from the German biotech InflaRx. BDB-001 is currently in Phase 2 clinical development for indications such as ANCA-associated vasculitis and hidradenitis suppurativa, and has been extensively investigated for the treatment of severe COVID-19. In 2024, the parent company Staidson initiated a formal process to absorb and merge Beijing Defengrui to optimize its corporate structure and R&D operations.
