Beijing Medical Equipment Institute (BMEI) is a pioneering Chinese medical technology enterprise specializing in the research, development, and manufacturing of high-end medical devices. Founded in 1953, it holds the distinction of being the first professional medical equipment research institute established in the People's Republic of China. The institute is best known for developing the country's first medical linear accelerator, a milestone in domestic oncology treatment capabilities.
