Beijing Protgen Biotechnology is a Chinese biopharmaceutical company specializing in the research, development, and production of recombinant protein drugs and diagnostic reagents. Founded in 2001 by Dr. Luo Yongzhang of Tsinghua University, the company gained international recognition for developing Endostar, a modified recombinant human endostatin used to treat non-small cell lung cancer. Protgen also developed the world's first quantitative detection kit for Heat Shock Protein 90 alpha (Hsp90α) as a novel tumor marker for various cancers.
