BeijingWits Medical Consulting was a China-based contract research organization focused on providing Phase I-IV clinical development services to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies. Founded in 1997, the company built a local footprint across multiple Chinese cities and was known for expertise in Chinese clinical operations, investigator relationships, and regulatory processes. Its business was service-based rather than product-based, offering outsourced clinical trial support rather than developing proprietary therapeutics. BeijingWits was acquired by ICON, with the deal announced in December 2011 and reported as completed on February 15, 2012. Following the acquisition, the business appears to have been integrated into ICON rather than continuing as an independent active brand.
