Company intelligence / Profile preview
Bellerophon Therapeutics was a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing the INOpulse platform, a proprietary pulsatile inhaled nitric oxide delivery system. The technology was designed to provide targeted vasodilation in the lungs to treat various forms of pulmonary hypertension and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in an outpatient setting. The company's lead candidate reached Phase 3 clinical testing for pulmonary hypertension associated with fibrotic interstitial lung disease (PH-fILD). However, in June 2023, Bellerophon announced that its pivotal REBUILD trial failed to meet its primary endpoint, leading to a cessation of development programs. Following this failure, the company initiated a plan of liquidation and dissolution to return remaining value to its stockholders. Bellerophon was originally established as a spin-out from Ikaria in 2014 and was headquartered in Warren, New Jersey.
