Bergen Brunswick

Bergen Brunswig was a U.S. pharmaceutical distribution and healthcare services company focused on wholesale distribution of branded and generic pharmaceuticals, specialty healthcare products, and medical-surgical supplies. The company also offered information management solutions, consulting, outsourcing, and pharmacy-related services to providers and managed care customers. It was not a drug-development biotech or pharma innovator with a clinical pipeline; rather, it operated as a commercial healthcare distribution business. Bergen Brunswig later became part of AmerisourceBergen through the 2001 merger with AmeriSource, and that combined company was subsequently renamed Cencora in 2023.
