Berlex Canada

Berlex Canada was the Canadian subsidiary of Berlex Laboratories, the North American pharmaceutical arm of the German company Schering AG. The company specialized in several key therapeutic areas, including female healthcare (contraception and hormone therapy), diagnostic imaging (contrast media), and specialized therapeutics for oncology and multiple sclerosis. Following the 2006 acquisition of Schering AG by Bayer, Berlex Canada's operations were integrated into Bayer Inc.'s pharmaceutical division. The company was well-known for products such as Betaseron for multiple sclerosis and various oral contraceptives like Yasmin. Today, its legacy products and research continue under the Bayer Schering Pharma brand.
