Besat Research Center is an Iranian biotechnology and medical research organization primarily recognized for its work in vaccine development and protein engineering. The center is most notable for the development of the Noora vaccine, a recombinant protein-based vaccine designed to combat COVID-19, which received emergency use authorization in Iran. Affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and collaborating closely with Baqiyatallah University of Medical Sciences, the center focuses on addressing domestic public health needs through advanced biological research. Its capabilities include the design, clinical evaluation, and manufacturing of biologics and infectious disease countermeasures.
