Company intelligence / Profile preview
Bespoke Therapeutics was a biotechnology company focused on the development of allogeneic, off-the-shelf cellular therapies derived from the human placenta. Founded by Dr. Robert Hariri, the company specialized in leveraging placental-derived natural killer (NK) cells to treat various forms of cancer and infectious diseases. In August 2017, Bespoke Therapeutics was acquired and merged with Anthrogenesis, a former subsidiary of Celgene, to form Celularity. This strategic combination was backed by $250 million in funding from investors including Celgene, United Therapeutics, and Sorrento Therapeutics. The technology originally developed at Bespoke Therapeutics now forms a core part of Celularity's clinical-stage pipeline, particularly its placental-derived NK cell platform.
